He has been working as an advertising director for more than 10 years, his path began as an in-house director of a production company for which he directed several commercials of various types. He prefers more narrative projects but remains very versatile since he strongly believes in combining narrative and visual experimentation. He is also involved in writing and in 2023 signed his first contract for a film script. He has directed two shorts one in 2020 that had a great festival response and one in 2025 that has yet to start its tour.

After graduating in Direction of Photography at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, Mirko began his career working in film production as a D.I.T. and Director of Photography.
He later moved to Milan, where he worked as a DOP on commercials, fashion films, music videos, and short films. He currently teaches Cinematography at NABA in Milan.
